. . . And I didn't get drunk for the first time in a long time because of it. At least I'm feeling a lot better now, I really didn't need a hangover on top of everything else. Watchin' the fireworks (and actually remembering them the next morning) is kinda nice, though.

Zidane had been asleep for nearly eleven hours straight. Some compassionate soul had moved him so that he was no longer sleeping on his keyboard and was instead curled up beneath the bed's pile of blankets. He'd hardly moved since then, except to stretch out a little in his sleep, and his breathing remained steady and deep and undisturbed by the waking world.

Well, Dr. Tot got in from Treno this morning and examined me. He said it looked like my cold was developing into the flu. . .or at least, I was showing some early signs of it.

Tot seemed really interested in the fact I've never been sick before. Guess it ties in with his studies on lore, but he theorized a little while he was here, an' said it was probably since Garland had made me 'immortal', I'd been immune. After all that happened, though. . .I guess some of his 'fixing' did go through. And because I've never had t'fight off any sort of sickness before, my body's kinda struggling to handle it.

Mortality's not so bad. Never liked the idea of living forever, anyway.

So anyway, I'm supposed to drink this potion he mixed up and put this salve he gave me on my chest and throat for the next three days. The potion doesn't taste so bad - kinda herbal, actually, but the salve takes some getting used to.

He said there's a possibility the potion'll make me drowsy, which I guess's good since I need somethin' to h el p me ge t to sle

I picked a really great time to get sick. Just when I need to be ready to fight at any moment, and instead I can barely think straight.

Thanks everyone for your advice. The blankets and soup seem t'be helping, at least. I'm not feeling so chilled, and the fever's still here, but it's gone down some.

......I didn't wanna admit it, but this is really...shaking me up. I don't understand what's goin' on with anything right now. I was there when Kuja died. The others....they only saw him fall, they didn't....

I can't think about it right now. Gettin' depressed on top of being sick's the worst thing I could possibly do.

Okay, since the BB murders are happening and everything, I thought it'd be good to share my thoughts on the way death works in the FFIX universe, since obviously the presence of phoenix downs and magic spells like 'raise' throws some confusion on the subject.

In canon, people die. Who can't be brought back. Why? Here's my theory:

Phoenix Downs are only good on characters who've been KOed, or have sustained so much damage they've been taken out of battle. Your whole party gets KOed and naturally, it's GAME OVER because you don't have anyone left who can fight.

Raise would be a magic that works in place of a phoenix down and CAN be used if someone has been mortally wounded, just so long as their spirit, soul or whatever has not left their body.

Does anyone else have any thoughts and/or comments? Especially muns playing characters relevant to this statement? XD

Zidane sighed and tossed another book onto the dressing room's table with a soft 'thunk', adding to the small collection already resting there.

It was boring being by himself so much for the past few days, and to pass the time he'd had little choice but to read books or else go stir-crazy waiting until the stupid virus wore off. And all Ruby's mini-theater had to offer was a handfull of plaly scripts, most of which he'd read before or otherwise had to memorize lines from, but it at least gave him something to do.

It was awfully lonely, though.

Pursing his lips, he looked up into the mirror across from where he was seated and frowned. He really didn't look much different, though if a person looked closely enough they'd be able to pick out a few slight alterations--such as his fuller lips and longer lashes. Mentally, of course, he still thought of himself in wholly male terms, but he had gotten used to the physical changes by now (even if they were less than satisfactory in his opinion).

"Man, this really sucks. . ." His tail thumped once against the floor as if in agreement, before the blond stood to his feet and stretched.

THIS MORNING WHEN I WOKE UP, I FOUND OUT I HAVE GIRL BITS. AND I DON'T EVEN LOOK ANY DIFFERENT THAN I DID BEFORE, WTF?!?!? WHAT SORT OF COSMIC JOKE IS THIS?

Okay, calmer now. I checked the community and it looks like I'm not the only one. So is this a multi-universe thing? What the hell happened?
